Reverend Kayode Oyegoke

Freedom! freedom! freedom! I yelled three times with my fist clenched punching the air currents in upward motion. I could taste the air, and it was libertine in flavor, no, not the Grecian merchandized one. This was true manumission promised in the holy writ through the hands of inspired holy men.

Set on a motion towards a path deemed fine by the world, accepted by all and sundry but I was halted by the sound of a voice. It was like a loud shriek in my ears, undeniable yet I found some strange strength to refute it.

It continued sounding, and every herald caused the shortening of the chasm that separated me from who I was to become. My heart was beginning to be swooned, but by who? what was happening to me?

Every day I began to see another reality, I was being awoken from the genjitsu cast upon the whole world by the might eye of a great bird. As the days passed by, I began to wonder why men were not seeing as I was. Did I suddenly become puffed because of my new sight? Maybe.

Men’s actions and the intents behind them became almost bare to me, I would see my colleagues and secretly laugh at certain things that ensued from them all because of my newly found sight.

to be continued…
